Bible Study Resources

June 14th, 2011 4:39 am

We’ve recently published over at the “review columns” pages of the website as they told about a few particular books about reading the Bible which we think would be helpful. You know we write a lot about, and suggest books to help us, engage culture, work for justice, reflect on the “signs of the times” and nurture the calling to use hearts and minds to pursue our holy vocations (whatever they may be.) Yet, this “wholistic” vision of missional discipleship, of Kingdom living, of living out of a distinctively Christian worldview perspective, will never fully catch on unless we hear the Word proclaimed in our congregations and in our small group studies and prayer groups. That is, the Word as it relates to and shapes our live in the world, the Word proclaimed as a coherent narrative that can upend the false stories of this world. So we trying to sound pious or doctrinally correct here—to “balance out” our suggestions about peacemaking or the arts or Christian views of science or work or economics.

No, we believe that robust discipleship depends upon our deep, profound commitments to be Bible-shaped people. Sons and daughters of Issachar (1 Chronicles 12:32) “knew the times and knew what God’s people should do.” Their insight about the times and their confidence about a faithful response happened, surely, because they knew Torah. They were wise covenant children. Let it be so with us.

Child Bible Study

October 17th, 2008 7:37 am

Bible study is the academic-style study of the bible, a holy scripture of the Jews and the Christians. It can be considered to be a part of Theology. In earlier days, bible study was done at home or in religious schools and colleges under the guidance of a teacher. These days, there are modern colleges and institutions that provide bible studies for all kinds of students. Bible study is also offered as a course in some Universities in Europe. There are special missionary organizations that offer bible study courses.

Bible study is basically the interpretation of the bible, as it is considered to be the message of God. It is supposed to reflect about various aspects of life such as: Christianity, salvation, the church, and the meaning of life according to Christianity. The main objective is to make life more meaningful and worthy. It is supposed to teach the real meaning of God, money, shame, hope, mercy, tests, trials, suffering, faith, repentance, confession, sacrifice, faithfulness and so on. Bible study also teaches about relationships, responsibilities of Christians, church work, and the attitudes and commitment required for being a good Christian. Bible study for children is especially important as they learn to be spiritual right from childhood. There are many courses specially designed for children. These courses contain stories from the bible, narrated in an interesting way for easier understanding. These stories contain morals that can be imprinted on young children’s minds for ever.

Teach Your Children about Christian Church

September 19th, 2008 7:35 am

It is been experienced that Christian church are losing 70% of their children who keep themselves away from Lord and get lost when out of home. This is a great tragedy and the main reason for this is lack of teaching about Lord at home by parents. To be short of Bible knowledge would certainly cause your children to go off into non-belief, skepticism, denominationalism, and other disloyalty, which would further cause them to be everlastingly lost.

We need to help our kids with their educate subjects at ease, but teaching the Bible along with them is of much larger significance than their school study. To protect our children we need to be much more serious to help them getting ready for infinity. We should keep aside some time every day for Bible learning with them. No matter whether you belong to Roman Catholic Church or Pentecostal Church, this teaching has to start in the early stage and carry on as long as we have authority on them. You should teach your children to have good religious values and this could probably only be done by educating them God’s word. So do take parenting very seriously and bring your children up in the care for and caution of the Lord so you and they could be together in heaven.
