Not only do I believe, but I know for sure because My wife and I met online! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with making yourself available for meeting someone, as long as it doesn’t become an obsession. Although God does work in our lives, often we have to do our part as well. For more on this, please read the article Waiting on the Lord. Blessings to you.

We’ve recently published over at the “review columns” pages of the website as they told about a few particular books about reading the Bible which we think would be helpful. You know we write a lot about, and suggest books to help us, engage culture, work for justice, reflect on the “signs of the times” and nurture the calling to use hearts and minds to pursue our holy vocations (whatever they may be.) Yet, this “wholistic” vision of missional discipleship, of Kingdom living, of living out of a distinctively Christian worldview perspective, will never fully catch on unless we hear the Word proclaimed in our congregations and in our small group studies and prayer groups. That is, the Word as it relates to and shapes our live in the world, the Word proclaimed as a coherent narrative that can upend the false stories of this world. So we trying to sound pious or doctrinally correct here—to “balance out” our suggestions about peacemaking or the arts or Christian views of science or work or economics.

No, we believe that robust discipleship depends upon our deep, profound commitments to be Bible-shaped people. Sons and daughters of Issachar (1 Chronicles 12:32) “knew the times and knew what God’s people should do.” Their insight about the times and their confidence about a faithful response happened, surely, because they knew Torah. They were wise covenant children. Let it be so with us.

Christian gifts are especially joyful because it is a reminder of our Christian life. Those gifts could be in form if Bibles, Christian Books, Crosses, Necklaces, Earrings, Bracelets, T-Shirts, Plaques and many more. When we think of giving gifts in general it’s mostly on special Holidays like Christmas, Birthdays, Graduation, Weddings and Anniversaries but giving a gift is appreciated at anytime, it’s a way of saying I’m thinking about you.

Christian gifts are very uplifting especially doing times of trouble, pain or sorrow. It’s nice to be reminded of the Love of God and to know that we are not alone. Not only is God with us and is thinking of us but also the gift giver is thinking of us.

Sometimes we don’t have the words to express what we want to say, giving a gift can sometimes express better what we want to say than words can. What if we know someone who collects for example Angels, that Person will appreciate Angels gifts more than anything, why? Because they have a passion for Angels. So it’s always best to find out what a Person like before we give them a gift. Not everyone enjoy the same thing. No one want to give or intend to give any gift that would not be appreciated so take some time to think about the Person who you want to give a gift to before you buy something for them. Just because we like it, they may not.

One of the reasons why evangelism programmes fail is because they start off trying to invite people who have no knowledge or connection with their church. First build a ministry that meets a need in the community and then you will have a target audience of people to invite to your evangelistic programme. They are more likely to attend as they already know you. Here are 15 ideas for evangelism that are especially good for western countries, but can also work very well in most parts of the world.

1. Social Networking Websites
There are many of these kinds of websites including Facebook and Twitter. All these sites have a lot of opportunities. Start a presence on one of these sites and use it to preach the gospel. For example you can start a Facebook page and call it something interesting like Does God Exist? This can make curious people join and straight away you have an audience

2. Puppet Ministry
Puppets are very eye catching and can transcend cultural, social and also language barriers. There are many resources available to start this kind of ministry. You can get supplies from an organisation called ‘one way’ (onewayuk.com & onewaystreet.com).

To start this kind of ministry you can either study an existing puppet ministry if you know of one. In addition you can begin by getting a team of likeminded people together and start by buying some puppets and a stage and learn a few short sketches and or songs. You can also follow an existing puppet ministry called The Animated Gospel Choir.

3. Community Choir
Starting a community choir is great for bringing new people into the church. You can advertise in the local newspaper, handout flyers and hold auditions.

4. Christian School
Many people have come to Christ through attending a Christian school. The rules and regulations for starting a school will vary depending on where in the world you are located. However once you have a school you can start and finish each day with prayer and devotion. Have Bible Study as part of the curriculum an also take the whole school to events like camp meeting or pathfinder camp. You can also contact existing Christian schools to get ideas on how they share their faith with the pupils at their school.

5. Community Church
This kind of church is like a traditional church but far less formal. They are usually located in a central area and have services that are specifically aimed at the unchurched. You could argue that this is what a traditional church should do. However studies show that most churches are great if you are from a church background but very difficult to attend if you are not form a church background.

6. Home Work or After School Club
You have a church building that may not be in use during the week. This is one of the ways in which you can utilise the building to be of service to the local community. Then when you have a religious they are more likely to attend as they already familiar with the church and some of the people.

7. Street Witnessing
Take the Gospel to the streets, but make sure this is presented as professionally as possible as this may be the one and only image of Christianity that some people get top see so make it a good image.

8. Radio
You can start a radio station on air or on the internet. Get some good presenters and some children can, make presenters as well. You can have a variety of programmes including: Music, Recipes, Ask the Pastor, Prayer Power Hour, Bible Quiz, Children’s Quiz, Children’s story, Bible Teachings, New Christians Question Time and much more.

9. Website
There are thousands if not millions of websites on the internet and you can create a website that is aimed at bringing people to Christ. The website could be focuses on prayer, the second coming of Christ, Healthy eating or even, Christina education. Even if you have no web building skills as there are various websites that you can use to build one and you need no knowledge of this area as they do it all for you.
Weebly.com is a good one and it’s free.

10. Blog
Blogging is a great evangelistic tool, blogging is a kind of online diary. You can write about whatever you like. WordPress is a good website for creating blogs and there are many other sites that offer this kind of service as well many of which are free.

11. Food Distribution Programme
Where ever you are in the world there are always people who will need food, be they homeless, poor, students refugees, unemployed or other unfortunate circumstance. The service can be a simple canned / tined food distribution. You can start off getting church members to done the food for distribution and then ask local shops and supermarkets to help and then see if there is a government run programme that you can get involved in as well. The food can be distributed from your church at specific times. Then when you are having a church programme these are your target audience to invite.

12. Bible Study Group
You would be amazed as to how many people from a non church background are actually interested in learning about the bible. Start a community Bible Study group advertise it in the same places that advertise other short courses and use lots of visual aids, music, film, drama. Anything you can to bring the Bible alive to the un-churched.

Choosing the right Christian wall art can be a bit tricky, especially if it is the first time that you are looking to get one. However, there are several ways that can help you to pick the right one. Here are some things that you can keep in mind.

Once you have decided on this, then you can go ahead and take several things into consideration. You can then decide on the size that you want. Think about the size of the space that you have for your artwork. It would be this time that you can consider the shape as well. Decide whether you want it to be square or rectangular or if you simply have a specific size that you like.

Some people like their wall art to be big while others like to see smaller versions of wall art on their walls. This depends on your personal preference. Of course, the bigger the artwork or wall space you want to fill, the higher the price usually. So you can fit your choice according to your budget. This should be your next consideration when you pick out your Christian wall art.

When you pick out Christian wall art, there are several categories that you can choose from. You can choose one according to your taste and preference. Here are some of the most common categories that you can select from.

One of the more common visual subjects is angels. This depiction was popularized by old masters since they drew angels from different angles, sizes and kinds. They make wonderful subjects in art pieces since they are pretty much transcendent.

Another popular topic that’s usually depicted in religious art would be Biblical scenes. From the last supper, to the prodigal son, to the creation of man etc; these are just some of the most popular subjects taken from the Bible.

Just like angels, biblical scenes were a favorite subject for master artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael. You can simply pick a scene that you like from the Bible and look for or commission an artist to create a painting or wall art based on it. Apart from those two mentioned, another popular kind of Christian art subject would be the crucifixion. This artwork subject is ideal if you want something that can help remind you, or anybody who sees it, of the suffering and sacrifice of Christ.

Being Jewish, Jesus and his disciples would most likely have sung the psalms from memory. However, without a centralised music industry, the repertoire of ordinary people was much greater than it is today, so they probably knew other songs too. Early Christians continued to sing the psalms much as they were sung in the synagogues in the first century.

Aside from hymns taken from the Bible itself, the earliest hymn still in use today is probably O Gladsome Light (Greek, Phôs Hilaron). In the fourth century, Basil the Great referred to it as already being a rather old hymn.

Some of the popularity of Arianism in the fourth century can be attributed to the catchy songs that the priest Arius composed in its support. The popularity of the songs helped increase the popularity of his teachings. Ephrem the Syrian composed a number of hymns later in the fourth century that supported what eventually came to be recognised as more orthodox doctrines.

Troparia and Kontakia are two early forms of hymns that became incorporated into the Church’s worship. At the conclusion of the Fifth Ecumenical Council, Emperor Justinian I is reputed to have composed a hymn summarising the council’s conclusion, Only begotten Son. That hymn was since incorporated into the Divine Liturgy of John Chrysostom and is still widely sung today.

The tradition of Christian hymns in the English language is closely tied to Protestantism. Protestant hymns can range from the Reformation organ pieces of J. S. Bach to the American folk hymns found in The Sacred Harp. Martin Luther composed a number of hymns in the 16th century, reportedly borrowing some of their melodies from popular tavern drinking songs of that period.

Another famous hymn composer is Charles Wesley, brother of John Wesley. Some hymns, particularly Christmas carols, are widely embraced by various denominations while many hymns are restricted to certain religious traditions. In some cases this is due to doctrinal differences reflected in the words of the song but in many cases it is the result of tradition and the use of denominationally-produced or -approved hymnals.

There are many Christian schools across the country and they are affiliated with many different Christian denominations. Probably the most well-known Christian school is the Catholic school network affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. However, you will find non-denominational Christian schools as well. In our part of the country, the Mennonite church has a large number of Mennonite schools.

Many people erroneously assume that if they are not a Christian that they can not attend a Christian school. Or, that you can’t attend a Christian school of another denomination. This is entirely untrue. Most, if not all, Christian schools accept students of all faiths and beliefs. Some schools may require that you attend a church on a regular basis or attend a church of the same faith. However, most Christian schools only require that you have the same or similar Christian beliefs that they do.

One thing your child will get at a Christian school is an excellent education. Christian schools are held to the same standards as public schools so the classroom time is very similar to public schools. However, Christian schools will also have Bible teaching as part of their curriculum. But you will also find English, Math, Science, Art, Social Studies, History, Home Economics, and other classes that your public school offers. They will also offer many of the same sports such as basketball, field hockey, soccer, track and field and others.

Attending a Christian school is like attending a public school with the added benefit of having Bible teaching. Also, since it is a private school, the class sizes may be smaller and the teaching may be better for this reason. And since Christian schools are run with Biblical principles, discipline problems may be lesser.

Starting up a Christian bookstore and cafe can have unique traits and challenges. Targeting and catering to many denominational groups can diversify your business, and leave many options available to the business. Having the proper supply and delivery methods can be vital to your Christian bookstore and cafe. Pleasant and interactive business practices should be a priority. Here are some of the main things you need to become familiar with.

Develop and maintain a strong relationship with a variety of suppliers for your Christian bookstore and cafe. These companies have already done most of the research for you. Having a setup that allows for internet access through these providers is essential to you and your market base. By having online ordering you do not have to overstock or ship. It is smart business to have customers come in to pick up orders though. After all, you have a cafe as well. Give them the option of drop shipping or pick up. Stock only those items that have a large turnover and your stock should constantly be flowing.

Keep at arms length with your suppliers, and do not become over dependent on any one of them. You want the freedom to purchase at good pricing and carry products that are geared towards your customer base. This way your not pressured into only purchasing the items that only have the highest margins for the supplier. Smart purchasing also keeps the retail prices down for your clients. Make sure your combination of suppliers can cater to a wide range of denominations. This will give you a wider market base. Providing proper order forms for church purchasing agents is vital. They need to know you can provide the materials they seek.

Familiarize yourself with marketing online. This helps you brand your Christian bookstore and cafe. You will be surprised at how many customers will opt into your site to get informed and order online. Stay away from promoting the online stores that directly compete with you. Try and get some suppliers that will give you market protection for your area. This benefits you and the supplier. This way they do not have to deal with numerous retailers and you do not have to battle with the competitor down the street.

Keep your Christian bookstore and cafe atmosphere both accessible and pleasant. The simpler you make transactions the better. Computer access in the store for the customers is a great way for them to interact with your products, and leads them to products and services you supply that they may not have considered. It also frees up your time to interact with your business. Follow the marketing gestures of your supply house, as they are very experienced at product advertising and promotions. They also supply excellent materials to assist in sales that can be visually attractive to consumers.

Living in today’s world, where love of Our Lord God and love of others is slowly disintegrating, folks find it tough to be inspired with life, therefore, you would notice plenty of discouraged people. Whether you are deterred with your job, chums, relationship, and life itself, to be discouraged is a terrible feeling indeed. This is because if you’re in that state, it seems that hope is nowhere to be found and a deterred person may have the sensation of being tired with life, thus making an attempt to commit suicide. So, being daunted can be a big thing that can affect one’s life, and is something that should be taken seriously. However, you can battle discouragements by encouragements and inspiration. Whether it is you who wants to be provoked or you need to inspire and inspire deterred folk.

Now, you would possibly agree that people face heavy discouragements because they view life in a worldly point of view. Why is this so? As I have mentioned, it is due to the lack of love in their lives and the absence of God in their lives too. It seems that folk can not remember that there’s a God who is willing to help. With this, it is a huge help if people will be introduced to Jesus as a God who saves. But since, these days, it is becoming harder to inject the name JESUS into the lives of the people; it might be far better if there are some things that could be used for this purpose without immediately bringing up God. For this purpose, this is where Christian t-shirts come in.

Yes, Christian t-shirts are a good way to communicate a positive message with impact. These Christian t-shirts are available in a number of styles and designs and might include images or words or a mix of both. They come in a variety of styles and have been especially created to express a Christ-centered message. Wearing a Christian shirt is about making a statement in clothes and faith. Also, it’s more about promoting a forceful scripture message with stylish and fashionable garments. Whether you would like to spread the news of God and inspire distressed folks, or you simply want to let folk know you are proud you have Christ in you, Christian t-shirts are a good way to reach out to other folks. So, Christian t-shirts can not only make a fun style statement, but it may also make a difference in folks’s lives.
